Welcome to La Grande Marque, Middle Temple Lane.

The decision to open a second bar was taken quite some time ago but with the qualification that the premises must match and complement those at Ludgate Hill. Many were viewed and all were rejected as not having the character which we required in order to allow us to provide the three fundamental principles upon which we build our business: quality of wine and food, quality of service and quality of premises. Until, that is, we viewed the premises of the bar in Middle Temple Lane which were formerly known as Refreshers. We knew immediately that here we could provide another City bar/restaurant in which we could achieve, in all of those areas, the high standards to which we constantly aspire.

We have arranged the premises such that you will feel comfortable whether you are there for a drink, a quick snack or a leisurely three-course meal.

La Grande Marque's attractive and historic setting in the Middle Temple is unique in the City. Did you know that it is also available for private parties, including at weekends? Set in this stunning location, either all, or part of, our unique and attractive wine bar/restaurant, or the garden, can be made available for your exclusive use. We cater for weddings, chistenings or whatever type of celebration you may wish to plan.
